A farewell to Tim Russert

No journalist's death should place them above criticism. Such criticism can be found under this blog post. I thank them for keeping watch on how Tim might have failed in his job.

Because I think Tim would have wanted it that way.

He probably did as much as any mainstream media guy - no better, no worse.

He was famous for his relentless questioning style. I remember Condi getting a thousand questions about whether she would run for president. I bet she does too ;)

So, all things said, I want to wish condolences and best wishes to Tim's family, and congratulations for every way he succeeded as a journalist: demanding answers, making the guests sweat and rightfully so.

You know I'm not a religious person, but if I was, I can hear God and the angels nervously fidgeting on the receiving end of an interview with the mighty journalistic interrogator:

Tim Russert.
