The Assembly of New York voted in support, 85 to 61, to pass the bill legalizing marriage for gay couples.
Now it goes to the NY State Senate.
The credit goes to all the gay, transgender, and straight folks who voiced their support - and pressure - for marriage. Also thanks to the Empire State Pride Agenda and gay-supportive Governor Elliot Spitzer, who is an infinite improvement on Mr Pataki.
Looks like MA Gov Duval has some company...or competition? lol
